1. 너도 비슷한 경험이 있었을거야, 너가 이끌기를 바라며 서서 기다리고 있는 사람부터 얘기를 시작해서 계속 말하는 사람까지.

I'll bet you've had similar experiences, ranging from the person who stands there waiting for you to take the lead to the one who starts talking and won't shut up.

• I'll bet: will은 시제를 강조하기 보다는 I bet의 톤을 좀 낮추는 역할
• ranging from the person ~ to the one ~: 범위를 말할 때 ranging from ~ to ~를 쓰면 된다.

2. 흥미로운 대화에 참여하는 방법은 단순하다. 재밌으려고 하지 말고 다른 사람에 관심을 가져라.

The trick to engaging in an interesting conversation is simple-stop tyring to be interesting. Instead, be interested in the other person.

• trick: 속임수라는 뜻 보다 tip의 의미로 훨씬 많이 쓰임
• engage in: ~에 종사하다 라는 뜻으로 해석하기 보다 '참여하다'로 해석하면 자연스러움. engage in > join in > participate in, 셋 다 참여하다라는 뜻을 갖지만 갈수록 관심도가 낮아지는 참여를 뜻함.

• financial trouble: 돈이 없다는 말을 할 때 no money보다 이 표현을 많이 씀

• I'm afraid so: (안 좋은 일에 대한) 동의와 미안함
• one of the workers: one of the 명사에 명사는 꼭 복수형이 와야 한다.
